Our systems and materials

How do wireless security systems communicate?

In our systems, the panel communicates with its sensors using low power radio signals. The panel features an internal cell phone communicator to monitor your home with the fastest speeds in the industry (up to 10 times faster than 3G). Our latest system uses two-way communication (cellular and WiFi) for even greater reliability. Our most secure panel, the Qolsys Panel 2, communicates with its sensors via encrypted signals to keep your family safe.

Are wireless security systems safe?

In fact, wireless security systems are more secure than wired systems. It is much easier for an intruder to cut a fixed line than to disrupt the cellular signal that our systems use to communicate. If an intruder tries to break your panel, it will sound an alarm before the panel is compromised. Wireless sensors are also more secure. Since they are not constrained by wires, they can be placed out of sight of intruders. If a sensor is tampered with, an alarm will also be triggered.

Can I activate and deactivate the alarm system?

Yes. Anyone with the access code of your system can arm and disarm it from the alarm panel, or system control application.

Can the system be connected to home automation devices, such as lights, locks and smart thermostats?

Yes. Your panel can serve up to 40 smart ZWAVE sensors and devices. Compatible devices from multiple manufacturers can be remotely controlled from our mobile app.

Do pets trigger motion detectors?

Only animals over 40 lbs are capable of triggering motion detectors. To avoid alarms caused by pets, we recommend placing motion detectors in high areas (above 7 feet) that pets can not access and in areas where pets do not. do not access often.

What type of batteries use door and motion sensors?

The door sensors take a single battery of 3V lithium watches, while the motion detectors take two AA lithium batteries. Both types of batteries last 5 to 10 years, are easy to find and cost just a few dollars to replace.

Why does CSL Protection not include window sensors?

While our door sensors can also be used as window sensors, window sensors are not very cost-effective for home protection. Window break-ins are rare, and with the quality protection provided by well-placed door and motion sensors, window sensors are rarely needed. If you absolutely need window sensors, simply add extra door sensors when you buy your system.

When a security breach occurs, does the system tell me where it happened in my home?

Yes. Each sensor protects a door, window, or region and announces the location of the violation when an alarm occurs.

I do not have a good cellular service at home? will they always work?

Yes. Unlike a cell phone, which is limited to using its operator's cellular network, Qolsys systems can use any available cellular network, ensuring that they always have a strong signal. We also offer systems that communicate via WiFi.

Can I bring my system with me if I move to a new home?

Yes. As a wireless system, they are completely portable. Just remove the appliances from your old home and then put them in your new home.

Plans and monitoring

What is a professional follow-up?

A "professionally monitored" alarm system transmits alarm signals to an alarm monitoring center, a sophisticated call center that can quickly send police, fire and medical authorities to your home in case of alarms. 'emergency. Professional surveillance is especially important because the 911 call on your mobile phone does not connect you to the appropriate authorities unless you are currently in the area of your jurisdiction. Our monitoring center will always send the appropriate authorities, no matter where you are.

Who receives notifications when an alarm goes off?
Can I choose who I want to be notified?

When an alarm goes off, you and your emergency contacts will receive your choice of voice calls, SMS and / or email notifications. You create your emergency contact list online after purchasing your system, and can update the list at any time.
